In the last couple of weeks I have thrown two kids out of my classes, given lines to 5 or 6 of them, handed out 5 detentions and phoned one parent.

Good for you, I expect you learned several more ways to say "you bastard" in French on their way out the door, or did you insist that they berate you in English?
It's the only language they understand. I have the same problem with baboons.
do you not fear any backlash? or is this one of the perks of public education?
I'm not afraid of backlash, they expect to be punished and are pleasantly surprised when they aren't.
